Nature First

At Tordrillo Mountain Lodge, our philosophy is simple and unwavering: nature comes first.
Preserving Alaska’s wild landscapes is not a side initiative. It is the foundation of everything we do.

Protecting the Wild That Defines Us

From the way we operate our lodge to how we guide guests through the backcountry, our commitment to protecting natural resources shapes every decision. Our approach is grounded in a strict leave no trace ethic, carried through every aspect of the experience both on property and deep in the field.

Operating With Intention

We recognize that even in remote wilderness, every action has an impact. Our responsibility is to minimize it.

Tordrillo Mountain Lodge has made meaningful investments to reduce our environmental footprint across the property. This includes the use of solar energy, advanced battery storage systems, and a Tier 4 low-emissions power plant designed to significantly reduce fuel consumption.

We also take a localized approach to sustainability. Our organic garden beds produce regional fruits and vegetables used throughout the lodge, reducing reliance on transported goods while elevating the guest experience.

Protecting Wild Salmon and Alaska’s Rivers

Wild salmon are at the heart of Alaska’s ecosystem. They sustain wildlife, support local communities, and define the health of entire river systems.

Tordrillo Mountain Lodge actively supports conservation efforts focused on protecting these critical habitats and preventing large-scale threats to Alaska’s waterways. This work is rooted in science, advocacy, and long-term impact.

Protect what remains. Preserve what matters. Keep Alaska wild.

Conservation Partnerships That Matter

Protecting Alaska’s ecosystems requires collaboration. We align with organizations that are actively defending wild places, preserving river systems, and protecting salmon habitat at scale. We do not take a passive approach to conservation. We support organizations that lead, act, and protect at a meaningful level.

Ownership That Leads From the Front

Conservation at Tordrillo Mountain Lodge is not symbolic. It starts at the ownership level.

Owner Mike Overcast has spent decades advocating for river protection and responsible stewardship. His work includes leadership roles in statewide conservation planning efforts and ongoing involvement in initiatives that protect Alaska’s most important waterways.

He also serves on the board of the Wild Salmon Center, helping guide conservation efforts across the North Pacific and beyond.

A Broader Conservation Impact

The work being done extends far beyond a single region. Organizations we support are focused on protecting salmon ecosystems across the northern Pacific, from remote rivers in Alaska to critical habitats throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond.

These efforts are driven by science, sustainable resource management, and a clear understanding that conservation and economic vitality can and must coexist.

A Responsibility We Carry Forward

Alaska’s rivers and wild places are part of a larger legacy. Protecting them is not optional.

Tordrillo Mountain Lodge is committed to investing in conservation initiatives that protect river systems, preserve habitat, and support the species that depend on them.
