Tordrillo Mountain Lodge, the longtime premier Alaska heli ski and outdoor adventure lodge is excited to announce an expansion project and Winterlake Lodge partnership for the 2018 Heli Skiing winter season.

There is a long history between Tordrillo Mountain Lodge and the Winterlake Lodge. In 1997, Olympic Gold Medalist Tommy Moe pioneered heli skiing in the region using the lodge as a base from which to explore this seemingly endless range of mountains. Fast forward 20 years, and the team at Tordrillo Mountain Lodge is back at Winterlake Lodge with a joint venture to expand their Alaska heli skiing terrain and winter lodgings. The strategic location of Winterlake Lodge allows the TML operation to push further north into the Alaska Tordrillo range as well as into the Neacolas. Guests can also ski from Denali to Lake Clark National Parks. This massive range is one of the most remote areas in the world for heli skiing.

About Winterlake Lodge

Winterlake lodge nestles on fifteen acres along Mile 198 of the Historic Iditarod Trail. The lodge overlooks Finger Lake where we land by float plane in the summer and ski plane in the winter. The property offers five individual guest cabins, a central main lodge, gardens, sled dog lot, and a sauna house. The hand built, knotty pine guest cabins provide luxury and cozy space to rest and rejuvenate after a day’s adventure. A true luxury wilderness outpost, they are far removed from the roads and trails of other Alaska operations. The expansion project will dedicate an additional A-star helicopter at Winter Lake lodge. We will offer this experience to 8 guests per week. Amenities include;

  • 5 hours of Hobbs time
  • 2 guides and a pilot
  • full service kitchen featuring gourmet Alaskan cuisine,
  • private cabins
  • hot tub
  • sauna
  • massage
  • full service bar with top tier international wines

Additional activities beyond the powder filled days include Nordic skate skiing, classic skiing, snow machine tours and dog mushing! From this location, guides and guests can launch into familiar and classic Tordrillo Mountain Lodge terrain or turn their sights west or north and venture deeper into newly explored terrain. The addition of the Winterlake Lodge base allows guests to explore uncharted descents while having the security and backbone of an operation with 20 years of experience in the Tordrillos. It encompasses over 100 miles of wilderness with 4 helicopters for access.
