Throwback Thursday: Tommy Moe

Although many people know of former Olympian Tommy Moe from his impressive skiing background, the co-owner of Tordrillo Mountain Lodge has long enjoyed leaving the ski slopes to chase trophies in the water. With gold and silver Olympic medals, five U.S. Alpine Championship titles and one World Cup victory under his belt; the decorated downhill and super G ski racer can often be found throwing flies in pursuit of the prize pacific salmon, rainbow trout, char, and grayling that abound in the Alaskan waters near Tordrillo Mountain Lodge. In addition to finding new and exciting skiing terrain in the Tordrillo Mountains, Tommy Moe and other Lodge owners and operators have spent decades exploring the creeks and lakes in the area and have always been eager to share these experiences with lodge guests from around the world. This week’s Throwback Thursday picture of Tommy Moe with a monster salmon perfectly portrays his love for everything outdoors and is exemplary of the excitement and adventure that can be found at Tordrillo Mountain Lodge.
