Kings and Corn – Alaskan Salmon Recipe

Kings and Corn – Alaskan Salmon Recipe

Tordrillo Mountain Lodge’s Kings and Corn trip is one of the best trips you will ever take if you are a skier and fisherman. Kings and Corn takes place in the month of June and you get to experience the combo platter of skiing “corn” snow and fishing for King Salmon. Corn snow is one of the best varietals out there. The guides at Tordrillo Mountain Lodge know what aspect to take you skiing at what time to ensure amazing snow that is just like butter. Even Goldlocks would like it, its not too hard, it’s not too soft, but just right. It is truly “Hero Snow”. Then pull of your ski boots and slip into your waders to fish for King Salmon. The lodge has fly fishing set ups as well as a full range of lures.

Unlike the grizzly bears, that enjoy Salmon Sushi right on the spot, most of the fishing at the lodge is Catch and Release. This doesn’t prevent you from dining on fabulous King Salmon. If you are at the lodge, Chef Brendan Nolan will prepare it for you, if you are at home and want to enjoy some delicious salmon, here is a simple recipe to use.

Rinse Salmon Filets. Heat a skillet and melt 3 tablespoons of butter until it sizzles. Add the salmon. When it starts to turn light pink, turn the salmon over and remove the skin. Add a bit more butter and garnish with fresh dill and serve.
