FIS announces 2015-2016 World Cup schedule

The International Ski Federation (FIS) ended its FIS Calendar Conference by announcing the 2015-2016 World Cup schedule. Some of the sites selected for the 2015- 2016 season include Beaver Creek, Aspen, Deer Valley, Lake Placid and Squaw Valley.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • The International Ski Federation announced its schedule of 2015-16 World Cup events following the conclusion of FIS Calendar Conference meetings in Bulgaria.
  • Alpine skiing will return to America for World Cups in Colorado at Beaver Creek Resort and Aspen. Vail/Beaver Creek was host to the 2015 World Championships. Aspen is slated to host the 2017 World Cup finals next year.
  • Deer Valley Resort in Park City, UT, as well as Lake Placid, NY, will host World Cups for both aerials and moguls.
  • Snowboardcross and skicross competitions are on the schedule for a World Cup at Squaw Valley Resort, the Lake Tahoe resort’s first World Cups since 1969.
  • Additional U.S Grand Prix tour stop announcements will be made this summer.
