AIARE Recap and Photos
Thanks to AIARE and Ruby Mountain Heliskiing for an excellent AVI 3 CPD course–a course that TML owners, Mike Overcast and Tommy Moe just attended.
Sounds like it was really beneficial to work and discuss avalanche topics around like minded industry professionals. The duo was lucky to have Dr. Ethan Green, aka D.r deep slab, discussing his career long understanding of avalanche mechanics to the group. Colin Zacharias, our other instructor, lead discussions about craftsmanship, case studies and industry standards that will no doubt be a part of our program in the future.
“It was without a doubt, the best 5 days of avalanche and safety discussion I have had in my 20 + years in the business. Old dogs need new tricks…. and perspectives!” says Mike Overcast.
More from Mike Overcast:
Joe and Francy Royer, along with the Ruby Mountain Guide team, graciously opened up their outfit and lodge for us all to enjoy. Every powder skier needs to experience what they all have. With 30 plus years in the business, its got polish. The Ruby Mountains are a special place and I can’t wait until my next opportunity to visit their little slice of heaven again. Hope you enjoy the snow geek photos ( no pow shots, we were to busy digging and learning… no joke) Hope we all have a safe winter.AIREE, Avalanche education, avalanche research, AVI 3 CPD course, avy safety, greg harms, mike overcast, Ruby Mountain Heliskiing, Ruby Mountains, Tommy Moe, Tordrillo Mountain Lodge
